Dr. Etan Sugarman is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip arthroscopy, sports medicine, and joint preservation. He graduated with honors from New York University and was inducted into the American Orthopaedic Association after finishing at the top of his residency class. He completed fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, followed by advanced training in hip preservation and reconstruction under Dr. Benjamin Domb at the American Hip Institute.

As Director of Joint Preservation at the American Hip Institute—the nation’s first center dedicated exclusively to hip care—Dr. Sugarman treats complex hip, shoulder, and knee conditions using minimally invasive and advanced restorative techniques. He has developed innovative surgical methods and trains surgeons worldwide in joint preservation.

Dr. Sugarman has cared for professional and Olympic athletes, including members of the Los Angeles Rams, Dodgers, Kings, Ducks, and USC football.
